Bulloch History | Mrs. Bryant’s Kitchen

For decades, Mrs. Bryant’s Kitchen was a must stop for travelers on US Highway 301 going and coming from Florida. Billy Graham was a regular. Favorite dishes were: fried chicken, sweetheart congealed salad, little blueberry muffins, and fresh shelled peas. This restaurant was featured in Ford Magazine and had a four star Duncan Hines rating. Mrs. Bryant’s Kitchen had a global following because of their wonderful food and location along a very busy highway.

Bulloch Tidbits are a weekly feature written and narrated by the Bulloch County Historical Society (BCHS) Executive Director Virginia Anne Franklin Waters.  Each week Virginia Anne takes Grice Connect readers onto a historical journey back in time saluting the people and places that have make Statesboro and Bulloch a wonderful place to call home.

Bulloch Tidbits on Grice Connect are made possible thanks to the generous support of McCook's Pharmacy a locally owned pharmacy located at 23630 US-80 in Statesboro.
