As Annie’s Nails approaches its 9th anniversary, the salon is teasing a big surprise for the Statesboro community—marking the latest chapter in a business built on faith, family, and a chance encounter.
Founded by Tom and Kally Berry in 2016, Annie's Nails didn’t begin with a detailed business plan. It began with a dream, a prayer, and a GPS that led a man—who didn’t even live in Statesboro—down the wrong road.
But that “wrong” turn turned out to be exactly the right one. When Berry pulled into the shopping plaza that now houses Annie’s Nails, something told him he was where he was meant to be. That moment, unexpected and unplanned, marked the beginning of what would become one of Statesboro’s most beloved small businesses.

The idea started with his mother and wife. His mother was working in poor conditions at another salon, and his wife expressed her desire to open a nail salon. This small idea and the motivation to give the women in his life the salon they desired is what drove Berry to begin searching for a space to build out--and soon enough, he found one.
Even after initially being turned away for a space to do business, Berry persisted until the salon was within arms reach. Nearly nine years later, Annie’s Nails—named after the Berrys' daughter—stands strong, a success Berry credits to the unwavering support of the community, his family, and the dedication of his entire team.
At Annie’s Nails, the spirit that sparked its founding lives on. Everyone is treated like family and friends, welcomed with a smile and a commitment to quality from the moment they step through the door. Over the years, the salon has truly become a cherished part of the Statesboro community.
Now with two Statesboro locations—1098 Bermuda Run (Market District) and 105 Tormenta Way (Eagles Crossing)—Annie’s Nails offers a wide range of services, including acrylic and gel nails, regular polish, brow waxing and tinting, manicures, pedicures, and lash treatments.
As for the future, Berry is hinting at a new chapter over the horizon--one that's sure to keep Statesboro on their toes. While he's keeping the details under wraps for the time being, one thing is clear: Statesboro better be ready for something big, exciting, and potentially game-changing!
"There's gonna be some big changes," said Berry. "Statesboro's getting ready for a big surprise from Annie's Nails!"
