Bulloch County is known for its great cooks. Most main line churches have produced their very own cookbook as both a fund raiser and as a record of their members cherished dishes. There is a wonderful Texas Sheet Cake recipe in the New Hope Methodist. Don’t miss “Miss” Frieda Beasley’s chocolate pie in the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Home Cooking Treasures. Two great Presbyterian books are Predestined to Pease and Feeding the Flock. The Lily McCroan circle produced a beautiful cookbook, Southern Grace, at Statesboro First United Methodist Church.

Bulloch Tidbits are a weekly feature written and narrated by the Bulloch County Historical Society (BCHS) Executive Director Virginia Anne Franklin Waters.  Each week Virginia Anne takes Grice Connect readers onto a historical journey back in time saluting the people and places that have make Statesboro and Bulloch a wonderful place to call home.

Bulloch Tidbits on Grice Connect are made possible thanks to the generous support of McCook's Pharmacy a locally owned pharmacy located at 23630 US-80 in Statesboro.
