BCHS Bulloch Tidbit | Dr. Leila Daughtry Denmark

Leila Daughtry was born in Portal, GA, in 1898 and died in 2012 at the age of 114 years old. She was the first intern at Egleston Children’s Hospital after graduating from Medical School in 1928. She helped developed the vaccine for whooping cough after an epidemic claimed a number of her patients. She is indeed a prize citizen of Bulloch County.
