Summer is one of the most anticipated times. All year, people of all ages dream of dipping their toes in the pool, walking across the white coastal sands, or enjoying valuable family time. From the beach to the backyard, the warmth of the summer sun is a warm and welcome greeting to all of us.

With summer in full swing, it is important to use sensible precautions to enjoy summer fun and prevent what can be dangerous health conditions caused by sunburn and dehydration.

"If you are going to enjoy outdoor activities, take time to plan ahead by using appropriate sunscreen, continuing to reapply sunscreen, and have plenty of fluids ready to consume," said Dr. Sreevalli Dega, Statesboro Urgent Care. "Treatment of sunburn and dehydration are common reasons people come to Statesboro Urgent Care. It is important to understand the symptoms of dehydration and act quickly if experiencing dehydration."

IV Hydration Clinic

While dehydration can be helped with drinks like water, Gatorade, or Powerade, it sometimes isn’t enough. Dr. Dega and the team of highly qualified staff at Statesboro Urgent Care offer a wonderful solution in their newest service: IV Hydration.

Every Monday and Thursday from 8:00am-7:00pm, Statesboro Urgent Care is offering an IV Hydration Clinic to assist in treating dehydration. Anyone is welcome to walk in and receive the treatment. No appointments needed. Walk-ins welcome.

The cost is $99 for one bag of IV fluid and an additional $25 for Vitamin B-12. Although it is not covered by insurance, the new hydration clinic is a great option for those of us who love to spend our summers basking in the sunlight.

The Hydration Clinic is only available on Mondays and Thursdays.
