With more than two decades of experience as a prosecutor, Totten has established herself as a dedicated and effective leader in the legal community. Since taking office in 2021, she has focused on resolving backlogs of cases, enhancing prosecution efforts, and retaining quality prosecutors to ensure justice is served in the Ogeechee Judicial Circuit.

During her first term, Totten secured over $2.5 million in grant funds to hire additional staff, which played a crucial role in addressing the backlog of cases created by COVID-19 and achieving a remarkable conviction rate. Her office's efficiency and effectiveness have garnered recognition, with the judicial circuit ranking 5th out of 51 circuits for opening and closing cases.

Moreover, Totten has maintained an impressive overall conviction rate of 99% in guilty pleas, jury trials, and bench trials, with a homicide conviction rate of 92% circuit-wide. These high conviction rates underscore her commitment to upholding the law and seeking justice for victims of crimes within the Ogeechee Judicial Circuit. We need her to continue her track record of success, keeping our communities safer. 

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Totten has deep roots in the community and a strong commitment to service. She has been actively involved in various community organizations, including the Statesboro Service League and the Statesboro Boys and Girls Club.

Totten's vision for her second term includes continuing to prioritize closing cases efficiently, seeking additional grant funding to reduce reliance on county budgets, and focusing on prosecuting gang-related crimes and offenses involving firearms. She plans to leverage a recent Gang Prosecution Grant to target criminal gang activities in the region.
