The Southeast Bulloch High School flag football program, recently coming off a monumental fourth consecutive state championship last season, is on the hunt to continue being one of the winningest programs in the nation as they travel out of Bulloch County to compete against some of the top teams in the United States this summer.
They will travel to Canton, Ohio for Unrivaled Sports’ High School Girls Flag Football Nationals, starting June 14–15.

Unrivaled Sports’ inaugural High School Girls Flag Football Nationals will make groundbreaking history, becoming the first national championship dedicated exclusively to high school girls flag football, reflecting the sport’s increasing growth and recognition across the nation.
This two-day national tournament will feature two competitive divisions, ranging from 5-on-5 to 7-on-7 matchups, as the top teams in the nation enter the tournament looking to secure the national championship in front of college scouts.
The top two teams in each division will earn bids to the 2026 Youth World Championships, providing an international stage for these young athletes.
The Southeast Bulloch Lady Yellow Jackets flag football program began four years ago, building the team around talented athletes with the expectation of creating a winning program, and they were able to exceed those expectations—creating a nationally recognized flagship program with an overall 83-1 record.
Each year, the standard gets raised for the program, and they continue to find ways to take the team’s success to another level. The team’s success is derived from every individual's contribution on the roster, but it has also been fueled by the overwhelming support of the Bulloch County community.

Head coach Marci Cochran expressed her gratitude for the massive support the community has poured into the program, helping the team grow as they continue to mold the young flag football program.

“I mean, I asked for a little bit of money, and we got a lot of money, you know, like, what else do you need? ‘Marci, can we help in any other way? Let us know if you need more,’" Cochran shared of the community's support. "And then they show up for our games, and it’s really good for women’s sports too. These girls are getting the recognition they deserve as flag football players, and they’re doing something that nobody’s done in the state. You know, it’s just amazing.”

The team was able to raise more than their targeted goal of $12,000 to fund the expenses to compete at the national tournament in Canton, and they have also received a tremendous amount of support from the Atlanta Falcons in efforts to continue building the sport.
The Southeast Bulloch Lady Yellow Jackets look to showcase their prestigious winning mentality at Unrivaled Sports’ inaugural High School Girls Flag Football Nationals on June 14–15 as they begin early preparation for the upcoming 2025–26 season beginning Sept. 30.
The Grice Connect team wishes the Lady Jackets a safe trip and a win at nationals! Go Jackets!!
