Ms. Viola McCrae, age 71, passed into rest Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Piedmont Augusta Hospital. The Bulloch County native was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mamie Lawton McCrae.
She attended the Screven and Bulloch County public school systems and was a graduate of the William James High School class of 1971.
Ms. McRae was a former nurse of 40 years mostly at Trinity Hospital (formerly Saint Joseph Hospital) in Augusta, Georgia.
She leaves her memories to be cherished by: her only son, Dr. Artese “Ja’Donn” McCrae (Chrisandra) of Jonesboro, Ga; her lovely grandchildren, Mr. Ta’jai McCrae, of Hephzibah, Ga; Mr. Ke’Von and Ms. Ta’yah McCrae, both of Jonesboro, Ga; two sisters, Ms. Iola Smith, of Hephzibah, Ga; Ms. Melissa McCrae (Bernard), Statesboro, Ga; four brothers, Mr. Quincy L. (Lafonda) McCrae, Midlothian, VA; Mr. Nelson McCrae, Mr. Darnell (Gerri) McCrae, and Mr. Craig (Carolyn) McCrae all of Statesboro, Ga; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Family visitation will be held on Friday evening, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., in the chapel of Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
The funeral service for Ms. Viola McCrae, will be held 1 p.m Saturday, April 15, 2023, in the Ben Samuel Hill Memorial Chapel of Hill's Mortuary, Inc. Burial will follow in the Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
Final rites have been entrusted to Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
