Robert Laurent Asselin, age 81, passed away on June 21, 2023, at NHC HealthCare Bluffton under the hospice care of CARIS Healthcare. He was born on April 17, 1942, in Sturbridge, Massachusetts to the late Laurent J. Asselin and Rita M. Asselin.
He came to Savannah, Georgia with the U. S. Air Force, where he served 4 years. After serving his country, he worked for Delta Airlines for 30 years. He enjoyed his retirement in the mountains of Tennessee and at Tybee Island. After falling in love with the Bluffton, South Carolina area, he settled in Sun City where he was an active member of the Sun City Roadrunners Motorcycle Club.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Wesley Robert Asselin and Natasha Alexandra Asselin, one grandson, Robert Alexander Asselin, of Black Creek, Georgia, sister Linda Mathieu (Greg) of Chapel Hill, NC., brother, Rick Asselin of Massachusetts.
The family will hold a private celebration of life at Tybee Island.
