Robert (Frank) Franklin Hagan Sr.

September 4, 1941 - September 7, 2022

Mr. Robert (Frank) Franklin Hagan, Sr., age 81, died Wednesday, September 8, 2022, at his residence. Frank was born in Statesboro to Dewey Inman Hagan and Bronnie Davis Hagan on September 4, 1941. He was a 1959 graduate of Statesboro High School. Following his graduation, Frank joined the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Shangri-La until his honorable discharge in 1963.

Frank soon began his career in the security service industry, where he worked all his adult life, until his retirement from ADT in 2007.

He was a dedicated member of Rehoboth Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday school teacher, usher and in various other capacities. One of his favorite areas of service was feeding the Claxton High School football team prior to their games.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Oveda Lord and four brothers, Russell, John, James (Shorty) and Tommy Hagan.

Surviving are three sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert Franklin Hagan, Jr. of Pooler; David and Rebecca Hagan of Snellville and Stephen Hagan of Statesboro; four grandchildren, Katelyn, Ansley, Julianna, Hannah, and Ripley and Viydah; a “daughter-in-love”, Jo Plaster and a brother, Inman Hagan of Savannah. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Frank enjoyed tending his garden and his chickens on his farm with his four-legged buddy Taco. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ and was faithful to serve Him and His church.

The family will receive visitors on Saturday, Sept 10th from 10:00am until the funeral hour at Rehoboth Missionary Baptist Church, 2331 Campground Road, Claxton GA 30417.

Homegoing services will be at 11:00am at Rehoboth Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Few and Rev. David Hagan officiating.

Interment will follow in Lower Lotts Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Statesboro.

Pallbearers will be Zack Brewton, Brian Plouffe, Andrew Reppert, Joey Hagan, Ripley Plaster and Jimmy Hagan, Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the ushers of Rehoboth Baptist Church.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Rehoboth Missionary Baptist Church, 2331 Campground Road, Claxton, Georgia 30417.
