Mother Sarah Green Ferell, age 94, entered rest Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center with her loving family at her side. She was a loving mother, sister and friend loved by many.
Mother Sarah G. Ferell was born September 8, 1930, in Screven County Georgia to the late Arthur Green, Sr., and the late Katie Blount. She received her formal education from the public school system of Screven County but resided in Bulloch County for many years.
Mother Ferell was a devoted member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her health began to fail.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Ferell and together they reared nine children.
In addition to her parents and husband, she Is preceded in death by her sons, Charles Ferell and Eddie Lewis, siblings, Bennie Green, Arthur Green, Jr., Henry Lee Green, Willie Roy Green, Elouise Robinson, John Willie Johnson, Gracie Hendrix, Osborn Johnson, and Ossie Hendrix, and a daughter-in-law, Pauline Mobley.
She leaves to cherish her legacy of love: her children, Theodore Mobley, Willie Ferell, Maxine (Isaac) Prophet, Larry (Antionette) Ferell, Beverly Ferell, Sarah James, Juqueta (Stanley) Boatwright; a grandson she reared in the home, Kelvin Ferell; a brother, George Johnson, a son-in-law, Freddie Mercer, a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Lewis, 20 grandchildren, Shirley, Hikka, Lestonz, Tyrone, Mose, Jamie, Gene, Matthew, R’Neshia Candace, Alexus, Nicole, Xavier, Dexter, Marcus, Brittany, Khyara, Sierra, Brandon; 21 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held on Friday evening, May 23, 2025, from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mother Ferell will lie in repose at the church, on the day of service from 10 A.M. until the funeral hour. There will be no viewing after the eulogy.
The funeral service for Mother Sara G. Ferell, will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev Richard A. Lawrence, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Final rites have been entrusted to Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
