Mrs. Lucile Hall Montgomery, age 83, entered rest, Sunday, August 13, 2023, at the Emanuel County Medical Center.
She was the fifth child born to the late Willie and Gussie Ward Hall born in Portal, Georgia. She received her public education in the Bulloch County School System and was a graduate of the William James High School class of 1958.
At an early age she became a member of the Johnson Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she served in the choir, as a Sunday school teacher, and served on the mother’s board.
Mrs. Montgomery also sang with the Calvarette’s and was a member of the Community Benefit Outreach for 34 years. She was a member of the charity and Goodwill Lodge #2 and 4 and the Eastern Stars.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Montgomery and four siblings.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her son, Stevie (Angie) Green, Statesboro, GA, a daughter, Jacquenda (Bobby) Roberson, Statesboro, GA; brothers, Rev. Willie Hall, Portal, GA and Franklin Hall, Kissimmee, FL; sisters, Margaret Lanier, Portal, GA, Alice (Raymond) Smith, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Nelrose Reese, Millen, GA; seven grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A viewing for Mrs. Montgomery will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023, from 4 pm to 7 pm at Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
The funeral service for Mrs. Lucille Hall Montgomery, will be held 2:30 pm, Sunday, August 20, 2023, at the Johnson Grove Missionary Baptist Church, with Bishop Larry Jones, presiding and the Rev. Maurice Hill, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Final rites have been entrusted to Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
