Mollie Grooms Bryant

November 14, 1927 ~ May 7, 2022 (age 94)

Mollie Grooms Bryant, 94, of Stilson passed away at her home on May 7th, 2022, after an extended illness. Mollie was surrounded by her loving family.

The long time Bulloch County native retired after many years with Georgia Southern College.  Mollie  loved to travel all over the United States with Excursions Unlimited and her traveling friend, Waunetta Dominy. She also loved to be outdoors enjoying the sunshine while walking and working in her beautiful garden. Mollie was a long-time member of Lanes Primitive Baptist Church, where she first joined at the age of 12.

Mollie was preceded in death by her grandson, Lyndon Franklin Bryant; daughter-in-law, Leigh; her brothers Waldo (Jean) Grooms and Herman (Verna) Grooms; and her sister Mickie (George) Masopust.

She is survived by her son, Lyndon Lance (Tonya) Bryant of Marathon ,Fl.; her sister Annette (Bruce) Stokes of Stilson; her granddaughter Elizabeth (Gregg) Myrup; great-granddaughter Lera Myrup of Marathon, Fl.; special nieces Lisa (Michael) Strickland and Joy Tucker of Stilson; and many more nieces and nephews.

A special thank you is extended to the nursing staff at Kindred Hospice. Mollie was also well cared for and loved by individual caregivers Liz O'Neal, Mary Mosley and Charlotte Patterson.

Visitation will be from 10:00am-11:00am at Lanes Primitive Baptist Church on Monday, May 9, 2022. The funeral service will begin at 11:30am with Elder Dean Robbins, Elder Emerson Proctor, and Elder Andrew Tucker officiating. The committal service will immediately follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Lanes Church, Leonard Patrick, and Rick McKillip.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the members from the Friendship Club.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Lanes Primitive Baptist Church (2858 Stilson-Leefield Rd, Brooklet, GA 30415).
