Miriam Juanita Clark, age 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Westwood Nursing Center, in Statesboro, after a brief illness resulting from dementia which she had been suffering from for the last few years.
She was born September 4, 1943, in Savannah, to David “Buster” Horne and Laura “Nana” (Barrs) Horne. She was a graduate of Savannah High School. She married John Wesley Newton Clark on November 28, 1963, in Savannah. She was formerly secretary at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer on Wilmington Island after being an in-home childcare provider for many years. She was a cherished mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her many grandchildren and volunteering for her church, Harvest Church of the Nazarene.
Juanita is preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Clark; her brother, Curtis Horne; daughter, Elaine (Clark) Glen and brother, David Horne.
Those who continue to cherish her memory include her daughter, Denise (Clark) Boyles; son in law, Scott Boyles; sister, Patricia (Horne) Ward; son in law, Jim Glenn; grandchildren, Patrick Glenn, JW Boyles, Laural Boyles, Roger Boyles, Alan Boyles and Delani Boyles.
A service will be held at a later date.
