Mrs. Minnie Pearl Hunter, age 79, departed this life, Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.
The Bulloch County native was the oldest of twelve children born to the late Jessie “Budmo” Hill, Sr. and the late Lillie Mae Roberson Hill.
She received her formal education in the public school system of Bulloch County and attended William James High School.
Minnie Pearl Hunter was a retired employee of Georgia Southern University where she worked as a custodial technician.
She was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband James Edward Hunter, a son, James Willie Lamar Hunter, her siblings, Linda Faye Hill Brinson, Jessie “Hatchet” Hill, Jr, and Calvin Edward “Huckabuk” Hill, and a brother-in-law, Benjamin Godbee.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a son, Kenny Hunter; four daughters, Deborah Ann Hunter (Tony) Overstreet, Daisy Lou Hunter, Melissa Hunter and Heather Maria Hunter (Fredrick) Williams; her siblings, Ola Mae Hill (Al) Perkins, Elouise Godbee, Burnice Hill (Cayton) Ford, Louise Hill (Mike Proctor, Teresa (Shane) Gary, William Hill, Eddie Hill (Sonya Dorsey) and Johnny (Angie) Hill; nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one aunt, Minnie Loutricia Roberson Eason; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A family visitation for Mrs. Hunter will be held, Friday evening, October 20, 2023, from 6 pm to 8 pm, in the chapel of Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
The funeral service for Mrs. Minnie Pearl Hunter, will be held, 11 am Saturday, October 21, 2023, at the Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. James Curtis Canty, officiating. Burial will be in the Springhead United Methodist Church Cemetery.
