
Mrs. Mary Lou “Peggy” Bath, age 85, died Friday, August 19, 2022 at her residence, under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice, after a long illness. Peggy was born in Clyde, GA also known as the “Area”. Her family moved to Pembroke in 1941. She was a paraprofessional for 30 years for the Bulloch County Schools. She enjoyed reading, joking with everyone, giving rocks at Halloween, riding the golf cart, and going on vacation with her family. She loved all of her family and her great friends, and they loved her.
Surviving are her children Joyce Rigdon (Dean) and Anita Knight (Richie); grandchildren Casey Rigdon (Kristen), Cari Rigdon, Maggie Gattis, Amy Perdue, April Harville (Adam), Jody Bath (Sara), daughters-in-law Denise Bath and Beck Bath; great-grandchildren Gavin Gattis, Haley Rigdon, Casey Rigdon Jr., Audrey Rigdon, Jack Rigdon, Jaydon Rigdon, Josiah Parrish, Leelynn Parish, Connor Burney, Kiley Bath, Kinsley Bath, Klohe Bath, Logan Glover and Hayden Harville; brothers Melvin Shuman (Gail), Ralph Shuman (Fay), Seward Shuman (May), and brother-in-law James Vincen.
Peggy is preceded in death by her husband Jimmy J. Bath who she was married to for 48 years, a son Jimmie (Joey) Bath, her parents Earl and Emma Shuman, sisters Earline Geiger, Jewel Vincen, Fay Shuman and brother Earl Shuman, Jr.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, August 21, from 4:00pm until 6:00pm at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be Monday, August 22, at 11:00am at Old Fellowship Baptist Church. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Old Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pall bearers will be Adam Harville, Casey Rigdon, Nathaniel Knight, Stephen Bath, Charlie McDaniel and Casey Rigdon, Jr.
