Lina Gail Gonya Edenfield, 40, of Statesboro passed at her residence Wednesday evening, February 22, 2023.
Lina was born in Augusta, GA and reared in Sylvania. She attended Screven County High School and obtained an Associates Degree in Cosmetology from Ogeechee Technical College. She loved her occupation and all the clients she served and cherished all the details of what was occurring in their lives. She enjoyed beach trips, listening to music and attending concerts, and driving her Jeep. She was a member of First Baptist Church and attended Connection Church after moving to Statesboro. She also had been an auxiliary member of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association. She will be remembered for being a gracious host, mixologist, and for making the most of her time while ill, ensuring her family had loving memories forever. She is preceded in death by her father, Steven Gerald Gonya.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Bill Edenfield; children, Steven Cason, Weston and Sophia Edenfield, and Aubrey Edenfield; grandchildren, Avery Edenfield, Adeline Edenfield, and Raelyn Edenfield; mother and stepfather, Gail Gonya and John Bohler, all of Statesboro; brother and sister-in-law, Casey and Megan Gonya of Sylvania; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Billy and Charlotte Edenfield of Swainsboro; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, April and Darin Pierce of Warner Robins; and her faithful companion, Rose, who was a great comfort during her illness.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 in the Chapel of Joiner Anderson Funeral Home at 3:00pm with Rev. Joey Fennell officiating. The family will receive friends an hour and a half prior to the service.
Interment will follow in the Screven Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Sport Lariscy, Tony Lariscy, Weston Edenfield, Dylan Pierce, Jacob Pierce, and Jarret Pierce.
