Mr. Lavan Dwight Sawyer, Sr., age 75, of Savannah, GA., passed peacefully on Friday, February 10, 2023 at his residence.
He was a Chatham County native and a member of Saint James A.M.E Church of Savannah, GA.
He is survived by his son, Lavan Dwight Sawyer, Jr., Savannah, GA.; sisters, Brenda Diane Sawyer (Ronald) Coleman, Augusta, GA., and Gwendolyn Sawyer (James) Moody, New York City, NY.; sister-in-law, Debra Zakiya Sawyer. And a host of other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 11:00a.m. - 12:00p.m. at Saint James A.M.E Church, Savannah, GA.
Celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 12:00p.m. at Saint James A.M.E Church, 632 East Broad Street, Savannah, GA 31401. Rev. Anthony Scott, Pastor. Rev. Craig R. Tremble, Eulogist.
