Mrs. Kimy J. (Hanson) Ahlgreen, 68, of Statesboro, Georgia, passed away, surrounded by loved ones, on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Memorial Health in Savannah, Georgia, after a sudden illness.

Kimy was born in Glendale, California, to the late Don and Mavis (Butcher) Hanson. She was a native of California but has called Oregon, Utah, Minnesota, and most recently, Georgia, home.

She was a talented florist, seamstress, card-maker and enjoyed every craft you could imagine. Known for her crochet skills, Kimy delighted in making handmade gifts for all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kimy was the light of every room she was in. Always the one to see the good in everything and everyone, she had the purest heart you could imagine.

Kimy was preceded in death by her parents; her first-born son, Laurens County Sheriff Deputy Kyle Dinkheller; one infant granddaughter; one infant great-granddaughter and one infant great-grandson.

Kimy is survived by her husband of nearly 29 years, Stephen Ahlgreen of Statesboro; daughter Kelly Bruce of Statesboro; son Keith Dinkheller of Waxahachie, Texas; daughters Kandi (Josh) Mailhot of Grand Forks, North Dakota; Stacey (Jeff) Baker of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee; Michelle (Pat) Moniz of Seattle, Washington; sons Sean (Linda) Ahlgreen of Rogers, Arkansas; and Erik (Faith) Ahlgreen of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; sister Kerry (Terry) Sabadin of Lake Elizabeth, California; brother Kirk (Trudi) Hanson of Ventura, California; 29 grand-children, 18 great-grandchildren; two nieces and three nephews.

The family will hold a private memorial service in Kimy’s honor.
