Kay Beasley Deal

Kay Beasley Deal, age 80, passed away on July 6, 2024, in Georgetown, Kentucky while in Bluegrass Hospice Care.

Kay was born April 10, 1944, in Statesboro, Georgia.

Kay was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Hugh Deal, and her parents, Naughton Beasley and Freida Martin Beasley.

Kay graduated from Statesboro High School in 1962 and then attended Georgia Southern University, earning an associate degree in Secretarial Studies in 1964.  After marrying Hugh in 1964, Kay lived in Atlanta and Raleigh, North Carolina before returning to Statesboro in 2011. Kay then moved to Lexington, Kentucky in September 2023 to be closer to her daughter.

Kay spent her career in bookkeeping, working at Gold Kist in Statesboro and at various car dealerships, including Franklin Chevrolet in Statesboro and Goodman Toyota and Fred Anderson Toyota in Raleigh, North Carolina. She served as a past president of the Southeast Toyota Comptrollers' Association.

Kay was known for her loving personality accompanied by her sweet smile and bright blue eyes. She was beautiful both inside and out. Kay loved the Georgia Bulldogs and Georgia Southern Eagles. She was a lifelong member of Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church.

Kay is survived by her daughter, Donna Deal (fiancé John Creech) of Georgetown, Kentucky. 

The family wishes to thank The Lodge at Bethany in Statesboro, Preston Greens Senior Living in Lexington, Kentucky, and Angie Damron of Georgetown, Kentucky for the care, love, and compassion they provided to Kay.

The family will receive visitors Thursday, July 11, from 10:00 am until the funeral hour at Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at 11:00 am with Elder Randy Waters officiating.

Interment will follow at Eastside Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jappy Stringer, Ricky Stringer, Chris Page, Scott Webb, Edward E. Beasley, and John Creech.

Flowers can be accepted at Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church, 4 South Zetterower Avenue, Statesboro, Georgia 30458. Charitable donations may be made to Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church or to the Naughton Beasley University Honors College Scholarship, Georgia Southern University, P.O.
