Kaitlin Marie Humphries Stewart, age 27, passed away at her residence on October 2, 2023. Better known as “Katie Bug,” she was born in Statesboro to John Matthew Humphries, III, and Samantha Hope Brazell on April 20, 1996. She was a 2013 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School and loved singing in the school chorus and was an avid music lover. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time and entertaining her friends and family. Katie loved photography, especially selfies.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of three years, Johnny Stewart; two sons, Bowen Shiver and Layton Stewart; her sisters, Leighann Anderson (Barrett), Ally Humphries, and Journey Davis; her brothers, Chad Humphries, Ryder Humphries, Colt Humphries, and Dylan Davis; as well as her step-mother, Angel Humphries; grandmother, Rebecca Coulter; and a mother-in-law, Wanda Swint.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, October 6, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
A graveside service will be held at Meinhardt Cemetery in Port Wentworth on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
