Mr. Jewel Lamar Smith, age, entered rest, Friday, August 11, 2023, at his residence under the care of his loving wife and Regency Hospice.
The son of the late Ruby Lee Smith and Joseph Coleman received his formal education in the Bulloch County School System.
Mr. Smith worked as a maintenance technician for Dairy Queen.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Linda Lester Smith, nieces his helped rear, Rosa Lester, Shakoria Ross and Shahendra Lester and a nephew, Chucky Reese; sisters, Gladys (Harry) Campbell, Linda Faye Mikell Smith, Marie Lane, Cynthia Coleman Bostic and Everline Pierce; six brothers, John (Delilah) Coleman, Larry Smith, James Smith, Jobie Coleman Eugen Coleman and Jimmy Coleman; five aunts, Barbara Boatwright, Betty Jones, Margaret Reese, Wadella Cone Heath and Ada Marie Butler Lloyd; two uncles, Dennis Coleman and Thomas Reese; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held Friday, August 18, 2023, from 4 pm to 7 pm, at Hill’s Mortuary.
The funeral service for Mr. Smith will be held, 12 noon, Saturday, August 19, 2023, at the chapel of Hill’s Mortuary, Inc. with the Rev. Paul Benton, officiating. Burial will follow in the Rehovia Baptist Church Cemetery.
Final rites have been entrusted to Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
