James "Jamie" Warren Lee

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James “Jamie” Warren Lee, aged 51, after a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer. James departed this world June 10, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

James was a devoted member of Jackson Baptist Church, where he found immense joy and solace. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he cherished the fellowship and support of his church community.

A beloved husband, Jamie is survived by his wife of 28 years, Angie Lee. He also leaves behind two adored children, Alyssa and Attison, who were the light of his life. Jamie's love for his family was boundless, and he took great pride in their achievements and happiness. He is survived by his fathers, Louis Lee and Jimmy (Jeane) Sturdivant, brother Michael (Allison) Sturdivant, sister Brandy Lee, grandmothers Gwen Sturdivant and Jeanette Boykin, brothers-in-law Allen (Heidi) McBride, Andrew (Erika) Reddick and Bobby (Amanda) Crosby, sister-in-law Nicole (Chris) Peters, and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by parents Inez and Cone Grovenstein and Debra Lee, and grandparents Alice and Roy Grovenstein, Pete and Marie Lee, and James Sturdivant.

Jamie spent the last part of his professional career working as a licensed nuclear power reactor operator at Vogtle, where he was respected for his work ethic and integrity.

Jamie will be remembered for his unwavering strength, kindness, and the deep love he shared for his family and friends. His legacy of faith, love, and resilience will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Joiner Anderson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 4:00 pm at Joiner Anderson Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Jackson Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Louis Lee, Michael Sturdivant, Allen McBride, Craig Jenkins, Kerry Grovenstein, Mike Grovenstein, Chris Newton, Terry Burke, Billy Farrow, and Steven Katic.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Sturdivant, John Teston, Olin Boyd, Will Boyd, Ben Boyd, Wayne Weaver, John Hasty Brunson, and Marty Jenkins.

In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Jamie can be made to Jackson Baptist Church.
