Mr. James Brown Sr., “Grandpop, Papa James”, age 76, died Saturday, May 20, 2023, at St. Joseph Candler Hospital in Savannah. Mr. James Brown was born in Dublin, Ga on July 22, 1946. James was a United States Marine Corps veteran and retired truck driver from Moore Trucking Company. James enjoyed working as a farrier in his retirement years. He enjoyed riding horses, hunting, fishing, and kayaking with his family and friends that he loved so much. He was preceded in death by his parents Bealford H. Brown and Kizzie W. Brown, a daughter, Kimberly L Brown, as well as his brothers and sisters, Dale Brown, Donnie Brown, Bill Brown, Dorothy Haranda, and Annie Merle.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Brown, his children and their spouses, James E Brown Jr. (son) Kelly S Brown, Ronald W Daniels Jr. (son) Laura B Daniels, and Andrea D May (daughter) Jeff A May, his grandchildren, JC Brown, Morgan Brown, Alexa Brown, Brian Madden Jr., Sean Madden, Justin Madden, Kathryn Madden, Jeffery A May Jr., Rabon D Hutchinson, Austin C Hutchinson, Joseph A May, Nicholas May, Carlie D Young, and Dylan B Bacon, and his great-grandchildren, Ronin B Hutchinson Jackson May Joelle May.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday from 3:00pm until 4:00pm at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro. A memorial service will follow at 4:00pm with Pastor Tom Osborne officiating.
