Harold A. 'Hal' Jenkins III

December 4, 1953 - April 1, 2023

Harold Augustus “Hal” Jenkins III, 69, of Sylvania passed Saturday night, April 1, 2023 at the St. Joseph's Hospital.

Hal was born in Sylvania and had attended Screven County Schools. He was employed with Sylvania Yarn System, formerly BASF, until its closure as a machine operator in the die department. He was a die hard sports fan and enjoyed yard working and had attended Grace Bible Baptist Church and McBride Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold “Bug” Jenkins, Jr., step father, Ray Jones, sister, Charmane Smith, brother, Allen Jenkins, and sister-in-law, Barbara Brown Jenkins.

Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Jenkins Jones of Sylvania; sisters and brothers-in-law, Andrea and Billy of Claxton and Leanne and George Weeks; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marty and Lynda Jenkins, Kevin Jenkins, and Nick Smith and Vickie Thompson; step sister and her husband, Mary Beth and Alan Godbee; step brother, Mark Jones, all of Sylvania; and his doting nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 11:00am in the Screven Chapel of Joiner Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Jenkins officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow in the McBride Church Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joesph's Children Research Hospital.

Pallbearers will be Hubert Jenkins, Faron Jenkins, Jerry Tucker, Josh Daniels, Donnie Jenkins, and Dusty Jenkins.
