Geraldine Biser Stephens, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025 at Ogeechee Area Hospice inpatient facility in Statesboro.
Geraldine was born on July 19th 1944 in Statesboro, GA to the late Gerald Biser and Emily Turner Biser. She was raised in Statesboro and graduated from Statesboro High School in 1962. Later in life, she earned an accounting degree from Ogeechee Technical College. She and her husband moved around as a military family while he was in the service. She worked for the government with Civil Service and worked as a bookkeeper for many years when they returned home to Statesboro. Geraldine was a member of Emit Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband and father to her children, William McDaniel, her husband Raymond Stephens, her daughter-in-law, Dino McDaniel and her great-granddaughter, Kelsey Amanda McDuffie.
She is survived by her three children, Derrell Stephen (Cathy) McDaniel, of Statesboro, Derrick Neal McDaniel of East Bernstadt, Kentucky, Lycinda (Amy) Bray-McDaniel of Mooresville, North Carolina, Richard (Hope) Stephens of Pooler, Georgia, and Larry (Tamara) Stephens of Ballground, Georgia, her grandchildren, Crystal McDuffie, William “Stevie” (Tamara) McDaniel, Diana (Nick) Brown, Kristi (Tim) Dais, Josh McDaniel, Walter Boone McDaniel, Redmond Stephens, and Graysen Stephens, as well as 14 great-great grandchildren, her brother, Charles Allen “Sonny” (Carol) Biser and many nieces and nephews. The family would also like to include Chuck Creasy who was a very close friend and caregiver over the last few years.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 5th, at 11:00am at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro with Pastor Tim Huffingham officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
