Mrs. Elizabeth Kent Smith, age 66, entered rest, Saturday, July 29, 2023, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center.
She received her education in the Broward County School System and was a 1975 graduate of Piper High School.
Mrs. Smith was employed by the Broward County Board of Education as a school bus driver and a Broward County Pupil Driver.
She was a dedicated member of the Ft Lauderdale Full Gospel Church of The Living God under the leadership of Dr. T. Wayne Parks for thirty years before uniting with the CrossRoads Community Church of Statesboro, Georgia.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Elese Watkins Freeman.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving and devoted husband, James Smith, Statesboro, GA; her sons, Nathan Wade Edwards, Ft Lauderdale, FL and Jason Jerrod Edwards, Hollywood, FL; step sons, David Jermaine Smith (Kena ), Pompano, FL and Charles L. Smith Jupiter, FL; her father, James Freeman, Statesboro, GA; a sister, Beverly Freeman, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; brothers, Kirby Freeman, Waycross GA and Godfrey Freeman, Colorado, Springs; a host of other relatives and friends.
A walk-through viewing will be held, 4 pm 7pm, Friday, August 4, 2023, at Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
Mrs. Smith will lie in state on the day of service from 10 am until the funeral hour. There will be no viewing after the eulogy.
The funeral service for Mrs. Elizabeth K. Smith, will be held 11 am, Saturday, August 5, 2023, at the CrossRoads Community Church, with Pastor Zac Case, officiating. Burial will follow in the Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
