Mrs. Dorothy Hilton Wilkerson was born August 16, 1947, in Bulloch County Georgia to the late James Willie and Eunice Byrd Hilton.
At an early age she became a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Clito, Georgia.
She was educated in the public school system of Bulloch County Georgia, and she attended the Ogeechee Technical College where she received an associate’s degree in accounting.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Truman Hilton and Ronnie Hilton; her daughter, Audra Gary, her grandson, Jacob Maurice Wilkerson, and her great grandson, Jamaryce Mincey.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Jackie W. Huff, Statesboro, GA, Dawn (Roy) Durant, Greenwood, SC. Aundrea Y. Leon, Richmond Hill, GA, Andrea (Thomas) Smith, Augusta, GA, Arthur “Pete” (Tiffany) Wilkerson, Fayetteville, GA; the father of her children, Arthur “Pike” Wilkerson, Statesboro, GA, her sister, Mae Pearl (Jerry) Hendrix, Statesboro, GA, brothers, James (Marilyn) Hilton, Statesboro, GA, Eddie Hilton, Cheltenham, MD, Frankie Lee Hilton, and Anthony “Pom Pom” Hilton, both of Statesboro, GA; 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 5 P.M. to 7 P.m. in the Ben Samuel Hill Memorial Chapel of Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
At Mrs. At Wilkerson's request, there will be a private graveside funeral and burial service.
The Wilkerson family would like to give special thanks to nurses, Kelly and Ashley, and the staff of Regency Hospice. Also, special thanks to Debra Scott, Gladys Hilton and Phyllis Rawls for always being there, lending a helping hand when needed.
Final rites have been entrusted to Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
