Mrs. Doris Jean Glovacz, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, May 2nd, 2023 at her home in Statesboro, GA.
Doris was born in Mt. Carmel, PA on May 10th, 1930. She is fondly remembered for her laughter and sweetness. She was always kind and mild mannered, except toward seemingly poor-sighted NHL refs. Her family and friends laugh out loud remembering her rants and rages as she expressed her discontent toward the refs on the TV when watching her precious hockey games as a lifelong Philadelphia Flyers fan. Her favorite pastime (after watching hockey) was doing 1000+ piece jigsaw puzzles. Until she lost her sight in one eye, she always had one in progress.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Sue Wagner; two sisters, Arlene and Janette; a brother, Alan; and two sons, Bill and Joe.
She is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Joseph Glovacz, Jr; a brother, Phillip; a sister, Beverly, devoted daughters, Roe (Rick), and Annie (John), and adoring daughters in law, Sue (Bill), Kathy (Joe), and Sue (Joe).
“Gram” just adored all of her fabulous grandchildren. At last count, there are 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren on the way.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, condolences can be sent to the family at 160 Old Pond Lane, Statesboro, GA 30461.
