Mrs. Connie Mae Allmond Calhoun, age 59, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 23rd 2023 at Memorial Health in Savannah.
Connie was born on July 4th 1963 in Statesboro and lived in Portal for many years. She was loved by many and known for never meeting a stranger. Connie doted her great nieces and nephew, Kinsley Deal, Maliah Deal, Sidney McCloy, and Stevie McCloy, but her greatest love was for her two boys, Mark and Corey. She was preceded in death by her father, Sidney Allmond, her mother, Marie Youngblood, a nephew, Nick Lane, a sister-in-law, Diane Greene Allmond, as well as her maternal grandparents, Annie Mae Ellis Finch and Vernie finch, and her paternal grandparents, Etha “Effie” Larrimore Allmond, and Moses Thomas Davis Allmond.
She is survived by her two sons, Mark Calhoun and Corey Calhoun of Portal, GA, her brother, Billy Allmond of Waynesville, NC, her sisters, Diane Allmond, Kay Lane, and her twin sister Bonnie Allmond, as well as her nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday from 10:00am until 11:00am at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro. The funeral service will follow visitation at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel with John Long officiating.
Interment will follow at Portal City Cemetery.
