
Mr. Charles “Rick” Mock, age 77, died Thursday, September 8, 2022, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was 1963 graduate of Marvin Pittman High School.
Following graduation, Rick joined the U.S. Army where he served in the 82nd Airborne. Upon his honorable discharge he returned home and married Sue Bradley.
Rick soon began a career in law enforcement, working with the Statesboro Police Department, where he later served as Chief of Police until his retirement. He owned and operated Mock’s Egg Farm until retiring in the late 1990’s. He was a member of the Peace Officers Association of Georgia.
Rick was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emory Mock and Evelyn Byrd Wilkins; his grandmothers, Verna Mock and Gladys Collins and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Willie B. and Inez Bradley.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Sue Bradley Mock of Statesboro; His children and their spouses, Rick and Carly Mock, Traci and Ben Moore and Clay and Maria Mock all of Statesboro; 12 grandchildren, Haley Todd, Rianna Mock, Patrick Mock, Marly Mock, Justin Hendrix, Courtney Glisson, Jacob Henley, Tucker Moore, Billy Moore, Addi Moore, Avery Moore and Emilio Quintero and two great grandchildren, Reid Glisson and Olivia Todd.
Graveside services and burial will be Sunday at 2:00pm at Bulloch Memorial Gardens with Brother Johnny Bradley officiating.
The family will receive visitors at the graveside following the service.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, Ga. 30459.
