Channie Jeannine Frazier, an amazing daughter, the epitome of love regarding motherhood, a soft-spoken, generous sister, a dear friend, a phenomenal educator, and a servant of the Most High God, was called home on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, in Savannah, Georgia.

Channie Frazier, the daughter of Connie Hasty and Herbert Frazier, Jr., was born on June 7, 1981, in Savannah, Georgia. Channie leaves behind, to cherish her memory, four sons: Larry, Kyrell, Landan, and Kaisen Scarboro, as well as her sisters: Karla Frazier, Tanesha (Barry) Nelson, LaTonya (Conrade) Irving, Ebonie Frazier, and Angela Hasty. She also leaves behind her nephews Jordan, Jaylon, and Aiden; her nieces Kinsley and Ariel; and her loving godmother, Oreatha Hines; Godsisters Ebony Clark, Tonya Holmes, and Ashley Scriven; and godbrothers Elton Brown, Jr., and Shannon Le’Counte. She was preceded in death by her brother, Herbert Frazier III; her grandparents, Christopher, and Sarah Stevens; Herbert Frazier, Sr.; and Louise Frazier; her godfather, Herbert Hines, Sr.; as well as her stepfather, Joseph W. Hasty.

In her younger years, Channie was an active member of the Solomon Temple Holiness Church. Recently, Channie tuned into virtual services at Greater Works Ministries. She also served as the first secretary and was one of the original members of Project Reach G.A.N.G. Inc.

Channie was called to be a teacher at an early age and was affectionately nicknamed "Teacher." She embarked on her journey as an educator by teaching her younger sisters and cousins at the home of her
grandparents during the summer.

Channie received her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education in 2008 from Georgia Southern University and was a member of the Phi Upsilon Omicron Honor Society. She obtained a Master’s degree in both Early Childhood Education and Teaching and Learning with Technology from the University of Arizona Global Campus in 2011 and 2012, respectively, where she also became a member of the Golden Key Honor Society.

She was a compassionate educator and played a vital role in shaping the minds of many children over the years. Channie was employed as a Georgia Pre-K Lead Teacher for over 15 years, and she also worked as an Adjunct Professor at Rasmussen College and was an independent tutor for many years. Channie was both the very first Georgia Pre-K Teacher of the Year and the GAEYC Certified Teacher of the Year in 2016. She also received the Women in History Award in 2017. Channie was a Professional Development Specialist for the CDA Council, a board member of the Georgia Association, and a board member for the W.E. Move Tutoring Group.

Channie enjoyed creating delicious meals for her children, shopping, spending time with her family, and reading. She was also deemed the "editor" of the family and was our go-to whenever we needed to have documents proofread.

Channie will be missed, but we believe that she worked hard to fulfill her God-ordained purpose in this life, and we find strength in the assurance that we will see her again.
