Mrs. Azure Bailey Rountree, age 49, died on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Rountree was born in Toombs County on June 13, 1976. She attended Vidalia High School and later Georgia Southern University. She was a homemaker and the owner of “Azure’s Gourmet and Sweets.” Azure enjoyed spending time with her family, photography and cooking. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Joel Rountree, sons, Henry and James Rountree, daughters Anna and Sarah Rountree, mother, Vonnie Bailey, brother, Anthony Bailey (Nikki Bailey), grandmother, Mary Humphrey. Azure was preceded in death by her father, Anthony Bailey.
The First Baptist Church worship center will open at 3:00 pm Sunday, August 24, 2025 where Azure will lie in state until the funeral hour.
The funeral will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025, from 4:00pm until 5:00 pm with Dr. John Waters officiating and Pastor Keith Hagan.
Interment will be private.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Rountree, Thomas Fallon, Jonny Owens, Anthony Bailey, Bryan Doughty and D.J. Vickery.
The family requests that contributions be made to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in lieu of flowers.
