Mr. Arnold Kimbrell, 83, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Millen, GA and reared in Screven County, Arnold is the son of the late Herman “Hump” and Marion Saxon Kimbrell.

He was a graduate of Allendale High School. He married the love of his life, Margaret, in 1959. Shortly thereafter, they relocated to Columbia, SC, where he enlisted in the National Guard and graduated from Palmer College with a degree in Business Management. They returned to Screven County and began Kimbrell’s Office Equipment and later Sylvania Mobile Homes, he operated for over 40 years. Throughout his life, he made countless real estate ventures.

He was a long-time member of Green Hill Baptist Church, where he served in many capacities, from Deacon, Sunday School teacher, layman, a member of the choir, attended mission trips and volunteered with the church at the soup kitchen. He also served as a Mason, Shriner, and a Jaycee.

He enjoyed maintaining his property with his tractor, but most of all he loved God, his wife, family, and the church.

He is preceded in death by his sisters, Judy Strange and Diane Revesz.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Margaret Brown Kimbrell, his children, Renee Kimbrell Garvin, Hope Kimbrell (Thomas) Goyt, Kim Kimbrell (Matt) Thompson, and Jimmy Kimbrell, all of Sylvania, grandchildren, Megan Garvin, Marlee Garvin, Lance (Kelsey) Campo, Tyler Campo, Derrick (Taylor) Parker, Brent Parker, Hannah Kimbrell, and Jakob Kimbrell, great-grandchildren, Dyson Glisson, Drailyn Glisson, Aspyn Forehand, Dustin Poling, Siri Poling, Waverly Campo, Logan Parker, Jaxson Lawton, Lake Parker, Evan Parker, and a sister, Angela Ferguson of Allendale, SC.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 24, 2023 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Joiner Anderson Screven Chapel.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 11:00am at Green Hill Baptist Church with Wes Withrow officiating, assisted by Rev. David Sharp.
Interment will follow in the Green Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Barney Smith, Barry Smith, Don Colbert, Keith Quick, Kelly Newton, and Stuart Stuart.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Crews, David Crews, Roy Burke, Charlie Waters, Bernie Scott, Hayden Brown, Greg Mallard, Dale Thompson, David Owens, Walter Brown, and Louis Oglesby.
