Mr. Anthony “Andy” Volf, 62, of Sylvania, passed away at his home on July 10, 2023.
He was born in Sylvania, GA to Joan Thrush Volf and the late Charlie Volf. He was a graduate of Screven County High School. Andy worked as a tree improvement technician for Brady Branch LLC. He loved the beach, the mountains, going to casinos, and the outdoors. Andy cherished the time spent with his family most of all. He will be remembered as a jokester; he always found a way to make people laugh. He was a loving and caring person who made any and everybody feel welcome in his home and never met a stranger. He is preceded in death by his father, and his late wife, Lisa Volf.
He is survived by his wife, Rene Volf, his children, Abigail Volf, Kaytie (Douglas) Doyle, and Hannah Strickland, grandchildren, Emaleigh Nasworthy and Jaxson Strickland, his mother, Joan Volf, a brother and sister-in-law, Charles “Butch” (Kim) Volf, several nieces and nephews, and Gary Nasworthy, who was like a brother to Andy.
Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, July 13, 2023 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Joiner Anderson Funeral Home Screven Chapel. Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church Cemetery with Father Louis Lussier officiating.
