Dr. Angella Nicole Anderson, 43, passed away July 7, 2025, at her residence. She was born on January 14, 1982, in Columbus, Ohio to Paul W. Anderson, Jr. and Judith L. Anderson.
Angella served in the United States Army as an 88M Motor Transport Operator and was deployed to Iraq. After her deployment, she was medically retired from the Army. Angella returned to Huntington, WV where she attended Marshall University and received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Women’s Studies. She was then accepted into Argosy University in Chicago, IL where she received her Master of Psychology and then her Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology.
Angella moved to Las Cruces, NM and worked at New Mexico State University Counseling Center as a clinical psychologist. Angella had an amazing smile and infectious laugh that would brighten up a room. She was a very caring and compassionate person who never met anyone that she didn’t consider a friend.
She loved cooking, writing, and reading but especially her fur babies, Ravioli and Blue, who she cuddled with whenever she could. She loved life and was able to share that with others.
She is preceded in death by her Grandparents, Paul Anderson, Sr. and Barbra Anderson; mother, Judith Anderson; brother, Josh Anderson; aunt, Coleen Merritt; and a cousin, David Merritt.
Angella is survived by her husband, Antonio (Tony) Cano of Brooklet, Ga; stepchildren, Cheyenne Cano and Takoda Cano both of Las Cruces, NM; father and stepmother, Paul Anderson, Jr. (Trudy) of Columbus, OH; brother and sister-in-law, Trevor Anderson (Kelsey); niece, Elwyn; nephew, Ronan; and a sister-in-law, Rachel Cano of Alamogordo, NM.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 2:30PM in the chapel of Deal Funeral Directors.
