The meeting began with a call to order and an introduction of special guests, including Rev. Donald Chavers of Agape Worship Center, who served as the keynote speaker, and Kathy Bradley, a renowned attorney, columnist, blogger, and author. Bradley had the honor of administering the oath of office to incoming President Pat Hirsch.
Larry Williams of ERA Hirsch Real Estate Group, led attendees in a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance before lunch was served. President Love then introduced Rev. Chavers, whose inspiring speech set the tone for the event.
Rev. Chavers' speech celebrated the unique role Realtors play in making dreams a reality, noting their ability to connect with people’s hearts and help them find homes where lifelong memories are made.
Chavers urged attendees to "be present in the moment" when working with clients, highlighting the importance of undivided attention in understanding and meeting their needs. He reminded the audience that the "people business" is a calling, requiring empathy, awareness, and a deep sense of purpose.
Drawing from scripture, Chavers reflected on the idea that Realtors are part of a larger mission, serving not just individuals but families and future generations. He closed with a reminder that their work has lasting impacts, helping clients build portfolios, create homes, and establish foundations for their children and grandchildren.
Chavers left the group with a charge to continue serving with integrity and gratitude, especially in the spirit of the Christmas season, saying, “You were chosen to be this part of somebody's life, at this time in life.”
In his closing remarks at the Statesboro Board of Realtors’ December meeting, outgoing President Ronald Love expressed gratitude for a year filled with challenges, accomplishments, and community impact. He began by thanking Rev. Chavers for his encouraging message, emphasizing the importance of persistence and positivity in the face of obstacles when serving clients with unique needs and aspirations.
Love highlighted the board’s significant achievements throughout the year, including raising over $11,000 for a local initiative, far surpassing the original goal of $700. The board’s community efforts extended to food drives for the Statesboro Food Bank, donations to the K9 foundation, and support for organizations such as Christian Social Ministries and the Exchange Club's Strike Out Child Abuse program.
The meeting concluded with the installation of officers. Tracy Mallary of Statesboro Properties administered the general oath to all board members, while Kathy Bradley swore in President Pat Hirsch.
