Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia is providing free summer meals for children in Statesboro

Two open sites in Statesboro will be providing free meals to children as part of the Summer Food Service Program, beginning on June 2.

America's Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia is participating in the Summer Food Service Program and will be providing free meals to children in Statesboro throughout the summer. The program ensures that children have access to nutritious meals even when school is out of session.

Two open sites will be operating in Statesboro from June 2nd to July 25th, 2025:

  • Statesboro Family YMCA, located at 409 Clairborne Ave., will serve meals from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM and again from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
  • Boys & Girls Club of Bulloch County, located at 1 Lee Hill Dr., will serve meals from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM and again from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.

According to the public release from America's Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia, meals will be provided to all children without charge. Acceptance and participation in the program are the same for all children, regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability. There will be no discrimination in the course of  meal service.  

This program offers a vital service to the community, ensuring that children in Statesboro have access to healthy meals during the summer months.
