Last month, Ogeechee Technical College’s (OTC) Business Management program hosted Marvin Schnee, who shared his wealth of wisdom in real estate investing with OTC students.
Schnee, President of Sundance Real Estate Advisors, located in Cedarhurst, NY spent about an hour discussing jobs in real estate, the challenges of managing property, and how to attract new tenants. His investment firm currently has a student-housing portfolio of over 3,500 beds across several states.
“Though only a few of our students will enter into real estate, Marvin’s experience of seeing opportunity and making the most of it was a key lesson our students were able to take away from his visit,” said Alex Harris, Business Management instructor.
Schnee, who owns property in Statesboro, invited two of his local employees to share their experiences with the class.
“Marvin’s Statesboro staff were able to share all the challenges and rewards of working in the real estate business,” said Harris. “One of the great things about a Business Management degree is that it serves as a gateway for our students to employment in all kinds of careers, real estate among them,” he added.
In addition to Schnee’s student housing portfolio, his investment firm also manages multi-family, office, and industrial properties.
