Ogeechee Technical College is proud to celebrate the success of Jalen Day, a graduate of the Diesel Technology program, as he embarks on his next assignment with the U.S. Navy Seabees in Rota, Spain.
During a recent visit to campus, Day reconnected with faculty and staff, showcasing his growth and accomplishments since his time at Ogeechee Tech. Known for his dedication and leadership, Day stood out in his Navy technical training by guiding his peers in diesel fuel system priming and explaining engine component functions.

In recognition of his achievements and upcoming deployment, Claxton Mayor Terry Branch arranged for Jalen to take a special hometown treat to Spain—a carload of fruitcake. This generous gift symbolizes the strong support from his community as he continues his service abroad.
Ogeechee Tech instructor Gary Perttula, a former Navy Seabee himself, expressed immense pride in Jalen’s journey. "I could barely get him to talk in his first week of class, and now he talks mechanics like crazy. Seeing him excel in the Navy, just as I did years ago, is incredibly rewarding."
Ogeechee Technical College congratulates Jalen Day on his achievements and wishes him the best as he continues to serve with excellence.
