Noise Advisory: Sentry Savannah taking place now through May 18

If you're in the Savannah area over the next week and a half, you may hear an increase in jet traffic noise as dozens of fighter jets and warfighters come together to train at the Air National Guard's Savannah Combat Readiness Training Center at the airport.

Sentry Savannah 2024 kicked off Monday, May 6, and will continue through Saturday, May 18, around the Savannah-Hilton Head International Airport. Residents in the area can expect an increase in jet traffic noise, especially during take-offs and landings. Bulloch County should not be affected.

Sentry Savannah is the Air National Guard's premier fighter integration exercise that trains the warfighter to operate and dominate air superiority at the Savannah Combat Readiness Training Center. It brings together dozens of 4th and 5th generation fighter jets and warfighters from across the Air National Guard to train together. The Air Dominance Center in Savannah reports that this year's exercise features 775 participants, 40 aircraft, and 6 units.

The Air National Guard encourages you to "keep your eyes on the sky" to catch a glimpse of the US Air Force's best 4th and 5th generation fighters.
