The Bulloch County NAACP will host its 56th annual Freedom Fund Brunch on Saturday, November 4th, at the Nessmith-Lane Conference Center at Georgia Southern. The brunch will be business attire and take place from 10am-1pm, and it is already a sold out event.
This year's theme for the Freedom Brunch is "The Next Generation, Thriving Together."
“The Bulloch NAACP is uniting together leaders of all ages to advance the future of African Americans in our community,” said Chapter Secretary Sophia Harris-Johnson. “We are committed to nurturing our future leaders of tomorrow by connecting them with the leaders of yesterday and today.”
The Freedom Brunch is the Bulloch County NAACP's primary fundraiser, supporting programming, activism, and outreach, as well as branch scholarships, social justice, economic development efforts, and voter education and advocacy. The funds raised will allow the organization to fulfill the NAACP's mission to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination.
The Bulloch County NAACP seeks to unite in celebration of our community and in the investment of our youth. The organization states in their Freedom Fund Brunch Memo that, "We THRIVE together through community building, rejuvenation, and collaboration."
This year’s Freedom Brunch will feature special guest speaker, the Honorable Mayor Van R. Johnson II, the 67th Mayor of Savannah, who will uplift audience members through his words of wisdom gained through more than two decades of public service. This is also a good opportunity to hear Bulloch NAACP President Yevette McCall Young’s vision for 2024.
The program will additionally feature special musical presentations and motivations shared by several young people.
