Together with the Rockin’ Out Alzheimer’s Disease Foundation and Bulloch community members, the UGA Cognitive Aging Research and Education (CARE) Center is working to improve dementia care in Bulloch and surrounding counties. Community members are invited to attend a free event and lunch at The Foxhall on April 18 from 11am to 1:30pm. There is absolutely no cost to attend or for the lunch.

Kathryn Chiang, MPH, a doctoral researcher in the UGA College of Public Health's Institute of Gerontology, is spearheading the event with assistance from Elise Lodde, an undergraduate Health Promotion major. The organizers are inviting community members to come and share how they and their families are coping with issues like memory loss and Alzheimer’s Disease. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn what resources are available to them in our community.

"Don’t miss out on this great event to have your voice heard to improve dementia and brain health in your community," Lodde said.

Experts attending the event will include Dr. Don Scott, Older Adult Medicine; Dr. Steve Correia, Brain Health and Cognition; Dr. Sarah Saint-Hamilton, Social Work; Dr. Devin Lavender, Pharmacy; and Dr. Anita Reina, Health Education.
