Power has been fully restored at Statesboro High School and classes and activities will return to a normal schedule on Monday, April 15.

An electrical issue with the building's main breaker system caused an extended power outage on Friday, April 12, which led the school to dismiss students at 12 noon, after meal service had been offered.

While instruction can normally continue at our schools during brief utility outages, it was determined that this outage would be for an extended amount of time, and that it would also require the building's emergency backup power sources to be shut down while the issue was resolved. For this reason classes were dismissed early on Friday and Saturday's scheduled events postponed.

Thank you to our faculty, staff, and families for their cooperation and patience during this unforeseen incident. Thank you as well to the school district's Facility Management Department for their tireless work and for the support of Georgia Power Company.
