Child Advocacy Services SEGA / CASA Ogeechee

Advocacy

CASA Ogeechee recruits, screens, trains, and supervises volunteers who provide community-based advocacy that promotes the best interest of children who are victims of abuse and neglect. CASA Volunteers advocate for permanency for cases that they are assigned by a juvenile judge, providing a voice to children throughout court proceedings and decisions that impact their future.

Supervision and Education

The Ogeechee Visitation Centers provide safe and nurturing facilities where children are able to create or maintain a familial bond through supervised visitation. OVC provides supervised visitation for child victims of abuse and neglect or families ordered through child custody proceedings. Caregivers receive individualized parent coaching and access to evidence-based parent education classes.

Public Awareness

We work to increase public awareness of child abuse and neglect prevention and supervised visitation through training, education, events, and media campaigns.

Prevention Network

We are part of statewide networks of individuals, agencies, and communities dedicated to preventing child abuse and neglect. Networks include CASA/GAL, Supervised Visitation Network, Prevent Child Abuse, and local community collaboratives.

Prevention Programs

We implement innovative prevention programs that use research-based models provided by state and national networks through hosting community webinars and events for children and families serving professionals and community members.

Linking Families to Resources

Prevent Child Abuse (PCA) Ogeechee follows practices and standards set forth by PCA Georgia to connect individuals to resources through FindHelpGA.org.
