Overview
We are seeking a creative and motivated Sales and Design Consultant to join our team at the Midland Home Hardware Design Centre. This role is essential in providing exceptional customer service and expert guidance to clients in the design and renovation process. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background and/or education in sales, decorating/design, and construction processes, enabling them to effectively communicate with clients and deliver tailored solutions that meet their needs. This is an excellent opportunity to grow within a dynamic and collaborative design environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service, including greeting customers, answering their questions, and ensuring optimal customer satisfaction.
- Use product expertise to advise customers on products and services that best suit their needs, building trust and leading to increased sales.
- Assist lead designers with space planning, cabinetry layouts, and material specifications as needed.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to obtain product information, pricing, and lead times.
- Handle administrative duties such as file organization, processing purchase orders, and client communications.
- Provide insights into market trends and assist in marketing efforts (ie Social Media) to promote design services.
- Perform cashiering duties as needed, including cash handling and merchandising.
- Keep Design Centre clean and presentable (includes dusting, sweeping, mopping).
- Other tasks as required.
Skills
- Proven experience in retail sales with a focus on high-end products.
- Proficiency in design software such as 20-20 Design is an asset.
- Background in decorating, design, renovation or construction is advantageous for understanding client needs.
- Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Basic math skills for accurate pricing and invoicing.
- A passion for customer service with a commitment to exceeding client expectations.
