Thanks to McCook's Pharmacy for making the replay of the Bulloch Tid Bit's available on Grice Connect.

From 1897 until 1933, the Savannah and Statesboro Railway carted our citizens to Savannah and back for numerous reasons. Our 7th of 27 historical markers is for this Railway that helped the growth of Statesboro. Engine Number 5, took 50 citizens to Savannah to bid on the First District Agricultural and Mechanical School in 1906. The S & S Railway brought these men back to town with a victory that we now know as Georgia Southern University. I’m proud that my great grandfather was one of these gentlemen.

Bulloch Tidbits are a weekly feature written and narrated by the Bulloch County Historical Society (BCHS) Executive Director Virginia Anne Franklin Waters.  Each week Virginia Anne takes Grice Connect readers onto a historical journey back in time saluting the people and places that have make Statesboro and Bulloch a wonderful place to call home.

Bulloch Tidbits on Grice Connect are made possible thanks to the generous support of McCook's Pharmacy a locally owned pharmacy located at 23630 US-80 in Statesboro.
