Terren Ward named Georgia Women's Basketball Player of the Year

The Atlanta Tip Off Club announced this week that Georgia Southern senior Terren Ward has been named the Georgia Women's College Player of the Year for a second consecutive season. Ward earned the honor last season and she is is the only Eagle to earn the award from the organization.

Ward had a historic season for the Eagles in 2023-24, averaging 22.0 points and 9.1 rebounds per game while putting up 16 double-doubles. She ranked 11th in all of NCAA Division I in scoring and her 9.1 rebounds per game led the Sun Belt Conference. Ward earned first team All-Sun Belt Conference honors and four times was a Sun Belt Player of the Week honoree this season, as well as earning Mid-Major Madness Player of the Week honors in December.

In her four-year career at Georgia Southern, Ward accumulated 1,749 points, 802 rebounds, 188 assists, 185 steals and 60 blocked shots. She is third all-time on the Eagles' all-time scoring and fifth on the rebounding chart.
