CLAXTON: Raymond Lewis, 79, passed away on August 19, 2023 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro. Raymond was a lifelong resident of Evans County and a member of Claxton First Church.
Raymond retired from Coca-Cola Bottling Company after 34 years of service. He enjoyed following high school football, watching NASCAR, and had a deep love and connection to his family. Raised as one of ten children, he was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and uncle.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Elaine Lewis; brothers, Emory, Enman, Gene, and Allen Lewis; sister, Maxine Lewis Cox; and parents, Lehmon and Avis Lewis.
SURVIVORS: his wife of 59 years, Brenda Lewis, and daughter, Shana Lewis of Claxton; sisters, Joyce Norman, Geraldine Harn, Reba Smith, and Doris Jones; many nieces and nephews.
