On Saturday, April 26th, The Garage at Statesboro in downtown Statesboro hosted its second Festivus Games, welcoming athletes from across the region for a full day of competition and community. The event featured 13 teams of three and 21 individual competitors, all showcasing their strength and endurance across four challenging workouts with five scored events.

With athletes competing across nine different divisions, the event highlighted an incredible range of talent, determination, and heart. For many, Festivus marked their very first competition, making the day even more special and inspiring. The crowd was treated to a display of grit, athleticism, and camaraderie that captured the spirit of the sport.

What truly stood out this year was the diverse background of participants. The competition drew people from all walks of life—Active Duty Army Rangers, first-time CrossFitters, new moms, and even an athlete in remission from cancer. Their stories served as powerful reminders that fitness is for everyone, and that strength can come in many forms. Whether they were chasing personal bests or just crossing the finish line, each athlete brought their own motivation and purpose to the floor.

“One of the beautiful things about these Games in particular,” said The Garage owner, “is that these athletes represent the majority of people who do CrossFit. They're not fire-breathing professionals who qualify for the Games every year. They're everyday people who may be new to the sport, who want to push themselves in ways they've never done before, or who just love the community aspect of it. Which is my favorite part!”

With perfect weather, a smooth event flow, and an electric atmosphere, both athletes and spectators enjoyed a day full of cheering, encouragement, and unforgettable moments.

The Garage would like to thank its local sponsors for their incredible support, including Sugar Magnolia Bistro, Smart Nutrition, Ziya, Ageless Athletics, Haylee Sowder Photography, Vandy’s BBQ, South Georgia Tormenta FC, the Marine Recruiters, Westside Veterinary, and Bulloch Fertilizer. Their partnership helped create an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
